being brought up in Singapore, i, unfortunately, had not tasted country living. I've always been in a high rise building, schooled in a concrete labyrinth and worked in a high rise tower as well.. never in my life have i seen a real farm, a paddy field or even an open green vestige. that's the pity with Singapore. the island is like sooooo tiny and land is like totally scarce. Every bit of nature and rural area was snatched away to make way for development. it's really sad.
all i want is to sit on the grass, feel the wind on my face, smell the scent of freshly dug soil and watch the plants sway with the wind. how i long for that calmness.

hopefully the government finishes the Kallang River revival project soon. pray that will give me the desired effect!

anyway here are some pictures of the 'river' they wanted to revive..

works in progress

i really do envy people who have access to the rural areas. they can just travel over for a quick weekend retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city..
