I love serviced apartments! They're love. And i made use of the kitchenette today! i made some barley and gingko dessert just now. it's dead easy and i'll share the recipe here for you!
Basically this is a serving. a very greddy serving. hahaha!
1 cup of barley, rinsed
1/2 cup of gingko nuts, soaking in water
1/2 cup of lotus seeds, soaking in water
1/2 cup of candied winter melon strips
1/2 cup of rock sugar or to taste
2 screwpine leaves, tied into a knot
a pot of boiling water.
le Directions :
In the pot of water over medium heat, throw in the screwpine leaves, barley, gingko nuts and sugar. Observe the pot. Once it starts to boil, start timing for 15 minutes.
After 15 minutes, throw in the lotus seeds and boil another further 15 minutes.
That done, leave the pot open and lower the heat to low. Add in the candied melon strips and leave to bowl gently for 30 minutes. Add more water if want it as a really soupy dessert.
Remove the screwpine leave before you serve. You can serve it either hot or cold! yum yums!!
simple right?? well the reason why i love this dessert is because it has awesome beautifying capabilities and it's good for your digestion too!
1. Barley is rich in fibre. it aids in digestion and keeps your bowels moving.
2. Barley is also good for radiant skin. consuming barley regularly helps in regulating blood flow and increases skin radiance over the long run. But of course, if you want to make this a daily affair, do cut back on the sugar okay?
3. Gingko aids in memory enhancement and makes you more quick minded!
4. This dessert is a cooling dessert so it balances your body out if the weather's killing you softly or if you had something very heaty to eat; example curry or something spicy!
enjoy trying!!
