pistachio fudge

i learnt a new recipe! its called chocolate pistachio fudge! and its dead easy!

250g dark chocolate

1 can condensed milk

2 tsp butter

pistachio nuts

put the chocolates and the milk into the pan and simmer. no double boiling required1 ( isn't that amazing?) when it melts, put in the pistachio nuts, as much as you desire. after it has all mixed, pour it into a tin and let set in the fridge.

after that just take it out and cut it up into nice small squares! your road to simple indulgence!

Jumbleberry Crumble

i'm thingking of bringing this to mimi's birthday... sounds yummy. and i got the recipe from the domestic goddess herself, Nigella Lawson.

Rub together...

200g plain flour

1 tsp baking powder

100g unsalted, cold butter

6 tbs demererra sugar ( or is it demerera? demmerrerra? or demmererra?)

rub all these till you get a nice, bread crumby texture. only after that do you FOLD in the demememerremmerera sugar...

For the filling...

500g of mixed berries ( blueberries, blackurrants, raspberries, wolf berries, strawberries, rockberries, ginseng, birdsnest... ok ok! i was just kidding! sheesh! )

2 tsp corn flour

4 tsp sugar ( yes just 4 teaspoons. we are not making jam you noe! )

a bit of vanilla essence

just mix'em all up!

in a cake tin, put the fruits in first, then pour in the crumble on top of the fruits. bake in the oven at 180 for 40 minutes or until the crumble is golden.

serve with cream or vanilla ice cream! *drool drool*

don't you just think the singapore girl image is just a bit too dated? i mean, keep the kebaya as it has historic links to Singapore's past as a malay fishing village ( though those folks don't wear kabayas tailored by a French Couturist ). but can they please upgrade those sandals? i mean black leather, opened toe heels with back strap, inclusive with a 7 inch heel ( too high ah? ) by Manolo Blahnik or Balenciaga... doesn't this look just way more chic, and killer - hot - stewardess - in - f me - pumps? come on..... sandals???

next are those red nails. why red? don't they look just cleaner with a nude, blossy French Manicure? sometimes, a simple swish of gloss is all it takes to get people to notice those slender, sexy fingers leaving a glass of orange juice on the stowaway table.

lastly, its the make up. ditch the red lips with blue / brown eye shadow... get them to look more dated and recent. get some smokey eyes with blushing ( not streaking ) cheeks and defined elegant lips in a colour so suitable to her skin tone. now, won't that be better?

even the Singapore Armed Forces have just revamped its No 3 uniform for women so that they look more stylish yet sharp. why can't the SIA update their look?

this consecration of military people from Singapore and abroad. i enjoy WATCHING this but i am sure to despise being PART of it... imagine waking up 4.30am in the morning so that we can reach SAFTI MI by 5.30am... what the hell... its like way too early lor! i just can't take it already!

Mimi's Birthday

should i? or shouldn't i? i managed to secure them a nice venue, room # 1712 at Furama RiverFront hotel. its a really gorgeous apartment suite, with two bedrooms, a kitchenette with a stove, microwave oven and a full fridge, a dining room for 6 and a living area big enough to house a party of 30, or maybe 40. and if you book the connecting room next to it ( 1710 ) you will get a room as big as a 5 room HBD flat! the rooms are so like some transformers nonsense... like at a press of a button and *berzhik berzhik berzhik* it changes to a three storey chateau by the sea...

but the problem is, a few undesireable people are invited as well. people like Fauzie and Hidayat. fauzie is like some noisy ass who makes so much noise, you cannot hear the Boeing 747 flying just above you! his noise is the type that craves for attention. its like "look at me you infidels! i said LOOK AT ME!!!" i mean, if you ain't got no friends, ya don come and holla at ma block, y'all!
as for hidayat, he is like some druggie that cannot live without his supply of codeine and some mad pill shit. and i heard, on Mimi's birthday, he is going to bring some Mary Janes y'all! i mean girl, bring them naaaasty thangs outta my face! why can't he bring something legal like sheeeesha or opium? ( is opium legal?)

Cadets

a new batch of cadets, a new batch of raw meat! i don't know, but i think i have a thing for these guys in No 4 with 3 white stripes on each shoulder. quite a number of them are good looking... and a few have been like sneaking glances at me even! should i? or shouldn't i?

but i managed to find out that one of them, (lets call him p, shall we?) is into motorcycles and stuff. i am so not into that, seriously. sigh the misery of it all... i feel like half of my soul had already vacated this shell of a body... sigh

my unit

my unit is actually some holding area for gay soldiers, i think. our previous ES Clerk was gay, the QM PA is gay, the Head PA is gay, the Document Clerk is gay, the Comms Store Training guy is ...er ... gay. i mean, what the hell, some even thought our QM is gay ( the other one, not don )

i think its some government top secret project to see the influence of gay people on straight men. maybe all the straight men will turn gay as well! hehe one will never know...

as what i know, we have quite a number of happy people in camp... 5 in the CCO, 2 in Artillery Institute, 1 in the Medical Centre, 3 in 24SA... this is as to my knowledge lah... some people may know more and some may know less.

but look at it this way... we happy people add colour to your dull placid lives. don't believe? ask the men and the DXOs at the CCO!
