love this performance of Amerie's Heard Em' All. and do you know that Amerie's mom is a Korean?? anyways, enjoy the video!

video post!!

a friend of mine complained my blog is too wordy.. haha sorry for the wordiness! its just that its so cumbersome to load pictures into the blog and as for vidoes, you need to like look for them on youtube and stuff.. anyways, OKAY! this will be a video only post, filled with some cute songs kenan and I love! enjoy!!

Wink's 얼쑤 its actually a trot song..

3 Chong Sa's 먹어 먹어... this is really cute because the title actually means let's eat! hahaha!

hello everybody! kai here!

we had a lovely picnic at Pearl's Hill Park. Where is Pearl's Hill Park you ask? ehehehe! its our long kept secret! Its actually at the old premises of the Outram Prison!! its so secluded and quiet and peaceful AND YET its only 3 minutes away to bustling Chinatown! how cool is that! hehe!

anyway it was nice sitting in his arms, munching on good steamed veggies and a bottle of sauvignon blanc. you just can't go wrong with white wine. goes perfectly well with everything! hehe!

sorry that today's post is kinda short! but i have to crash early today because of an early morning meeting tomorrow! i'll have to be at work at like 9am tomorrow! how unthinkable is that!?!?!

Friday, 26 March 2010

i was at liang court, meeting a few friends just now. we had like a couple of glasses of sauvignon blanc by the poolside and i had to make a hasty retreat because the bookstore was closing soon.

i bought my financial calculator* three months back from kinokuniya, a japanese bookstore chain in singapore. and now its giving me problems. like what the fuck? that shit cost me like S$90 over and its giving me shit now?!?! gimme a break puh lease!!! it functions normally when you on it and do some calculations. but when you put it on the table, all hell breaks loose!! digits go missing, numbers start running here and there and sometimes, it totally shuts down! like omg!! anyway i went to the attendant to ask her for some help, she fiddled with the calculator for a while and then told me, "i'm sorry but we don't sell financial calculators. so i can't help you here." like what the fuck? thank God i lost the receipt months back. if i still have it, i'd go screaming at her! i freaking bought that darn thing over that darn counter at the darn store! i think she's just trying to escape from attending to me! fat loser! guess i'll just have to buy a new one then...

*just so you know, financial calculators DO exist! hahaha! the cool thing is, the calculator is able to calculate compounding interest with just a button. with that button, you can find out the Future Value of your assets, the Present Value, how much compounding interest you will earn and so forth. how cool is that!? well, its essential for me though! hahaha!

anyway after that kinokuniya ordeal, i went down to the Supermarket, Meidi Ya, at basement 1. its a japanese supermart, so don't expect anything cheap. But the item i am about to mention to you later is pushing my boundaries to the limits! 5 pieces of apple sized sweet potatoes for S$25. what the FISH??? i can get them for like S$2 with potatoes of identical weight at Fairprice!! i didn't know until the person weighed it and scanned it into the register. my jaw is still on the floor of the supermart, i think. can't find it anywhere.

forget that shit. what's done is already done. no point crying over spilt milk. when i was doing grocery shopping, i called kenan, asking him what he'd like for the week's meals. he said since i'm going on a 7 day detox, he might as well join in the wagon. so i said okay, fine. i'll buy just vegetables then. i was contemplating on the two large bottles of Perrier. sparkling water with some lemon is oh so yummy on a hot day! thank goodness i did not buy them. the veggies by themselves were rather heavy and add on my Prada workbag, Heavens! Hell is pulling my arms down!! maybe i'll go back someday to buy those two bottles.

i hope i have enough veggies to last a week. i don't wanna do marketing anymore. the problem with living near the premier shopping belt is that, even if you just wanna pop to the supermart to buy some stuff, you'll have to jolly well dress up. because if not, you'll get stares from the assistants in the chi chi boutiques. its really a chore. its no more a luxury okay! seriously, no joke.

oh, i should list some stuff here before i forget..

things to buy:
  • acuvue dailies moist 6 boxes
  • Perrier 1 litre X 2
  • eggs
  • plain flour

stuff to pay:

  • housekeeping lady $500
  • MY bills $75
  • KENAN'S bills $657

KENAN'S to do list:

  • pick up laundry

guess that's all i must remember..

okay people! stay beautiful and goodnight! i am so pooped out now! need some well deserved sleep!

BlackForest Pudding from Assembly

good morning singapore!! its a balmy morning with very little wind, and a 60% chance that it'll rain by 12pm this afternoon. don't let that hinder your plans for the day! its gonna be a warm 33 degrees celsius / humidity level 85% during the day. so dress appropriately!

hello hello! in such a lovely mood today! yesterday evening was a blast. it was some quality alone time together without any outside interventions. no TV, no loud music, no nosey parents. just ken, me and the bottle of chilled chablis on the balcony, overlooking the Town. how blissful!

okay enough about me, today (since i'm in a good mood) i'll share with you another recipe! this is dead easy and all it needs is ASSEMBLY! minimal cooking, NO BAKING!

BlackForest Pudding from Assembly (what Ken made yesterday!!)

Ingredients
Chocolate pound cakes, sliced (its best you use the Chocolate Pound Cakes from Sara Lee)
400ml whipping cream, whipped up with a machine
some Baileys Irish Cream
some dark chocolate sauce
digestive biscuits, crushed in a plastic bag
chocolate shavings

For the Fruits Dressing
2 large handfuls of fresh raspberries
2 large handfuls of black currants
2 large handfuls of blue berries
2 large handfuls of SEEDED fresh cherries
a tin of cherries in syrup, drained
a heapful of demererra sugar
a shot of brandy
a shot of orange Cointreau

The Minimal Cooking Part

in a heavy bottom pot, throw in a handful of berries from each item listed above (hence the need for TWO LARGE HANDFULS) and the tinned cherries. over low heat, mush the berries till its all gooey but still very lumpy. Ensure the mixture does not start to bubble. add in the demererra sugar and liquors and mix well. Remove from heat and add the rest of the berries. don't mush them. you still want them nice and whole.

The Assembly

in a large glass bowl, place the slices of chocolate pound cake, enough to cover the bottom. press firmly, ensuring the pound cake covers every nook and cranny of the bowl. drizzle the Bailey's Irish Cream all over the pound cake. Pour the chocolate sauce, covering the pound cake. dribble over the fruity berry mix before layering the whipped cream. ensure the berry mix is fully cooled before you put the whipped cream!!

sprinkle the digestive biscuits over the cream for some good ol' texture. repeat the layering till the pudding reaches the top of the bowl. the topmost layer should be the whipped cream. sprinkle the digestive biscuits over the whip cream, as stated, but for this last layer, ribbon in some of the excess berry mix. throw in some chocolate shavings for good measure!

allow the pudding to sit in the fridge for a good 5 hours before serving!

To serve, bring the entire bowl to the table and just scoop it out and serve it! that easy!!

Tadah! your ticket to ultimate indulgence!! yummy yumm! have fun trying and do keep me updated at the final outcome! tell me if its yummy, or bland, or just too cloyingly sweet! all feedback is better than no feedback!

have fun trying and toodles!

i reached Cairnhill at like 3pm today and i saw kenan cooking in the kitchenette! i was like OMG ken! you can cook?!?! i've never tasted his cooking before and was so looking forward to it!

here's what he made for Tunch(lunch and tea combined into a meal is tunch, just so you know)!!

for the appetizer, he made a yummy feta cheese and watermelon salad

for the main, bouillabaisse with french baguette

and dessert, blackforest pudding made from assembling!!

the appetizer was a sure proof success, unless you get really yucky and bland watermelons. you need yummy and sweet watermelons to conter the salty and tangy feta cheese. didn't know he knew how to make this! what a samrt guy!!

as for the bouillabaisse, it was SUPERB! D.E.L.I.C.I.O.U.S. uber yummies. atrociously good! i suspected he made this from a box, but when i saw the mess in the sink, i knew it was made from scratch! it was so good, i hugged him really tight after tasting the first spoon. it really touched me that he made a meal for me when i came back. he's such a smart guy, knowing all the strings to pull!

the blackforest pudding was my recipe actually. it's really easy and all it needs is a nice clear bowl and some assembling. so its foolproof.

i didn't expect the meal at all and it was really nice of him to make such a feast! so happy for him..

anyway i'm gonna spend some time with him relaxing at the balcony now.. just took out the Chablis from the wine fridge... see you guys later tonight!
hey hey!!

sorry guys we've not been updating recently! we've been quite busy with work and stuff! kai needed to do this roadshow at Suntec Convention Hall. the event was called the Kidz Academy and they have vendors and exhibitors hawking goods and services for kids aged 14 and below. so actually it made sense that Prudential have a booth there. Bu i heard from kai he did not managed to get any sit downs from the crowd and that the place was extremely non conducive for business. it was really hard to talk to clients because we were just a stone's throw from the main stage and they had performances and talks by over enthusiastic speakers. it was just too loud. in fact, i went to see him yesterday evening at the booth and, the din was so terrible, i can't hear myself! it was super loud. really, really bad place for business, honestly.

that was kai's part. he was on roadshow duty from friday till sunday, 11am till 9pm. and by the time he reached home, he was dead tired. he looked so pitiful, with his swollen feet from all that standing.

as for me, it's nearing tax day, so i've been kept busy by the Monetary Authority of Singapore, IRAS and the Bank. its really hard doing so many things at once. i now work like 7 days a week and i try to knock off on Fridays and Mondays earlier (leaving by like 8pm instead of the usual 11pm) but the good thing is, the Bank has given me the ever convenien and exclusive Company Charge Card for taxis! that means i don't need to pay for the fare when i take the cab! i charge it to the company directly! HOW CONVENIENT!! no more hassle of claiming and waiting!! and i can use it whenever and wherever too! and and and!!! the company has decided that OVER TIME PAY is ESSENTIAL for me!! yay! that means my work will be more worthwhile! and you'll be surprised at the rates they are paying me! from 6pm till 11pm its $7 per hour. from 11.01pm till 6am its $7.50 for every HALF HOUR. how cool is that!?!?!?!

yay! i think i can afford that new Prada and Balenciaga i've been eyeing for kai's mum!

oh just to let you know, i'm sleeping alone today.. T.T so sad right!?!? kai is over at his parents place for the weekend. and he will stay with me in Cairnhill for the weekdays. i'm looking forward to seeing him later in the day!!

so excited! oh and the best part is, I GOT THE DAY OFF TODAY!! yay! we can go shopping together today!!

okay people, enough trash. me needs to go sleep! have agreat day ahead everyone!! toodles!

hearts, hearts,,

a dedication to Pearl!!

hey pearl! thanks so much for your past comments! hehe.. love the fact that you are so pro active and you leave comments all around!
to let you have a clearer picture of the apartment ken bought, i've attached some lovely illustrations for you!
S$4.75 million = US$3.10 million = HK$26.48 million = TWD$108.08 million

it is STILL pricey. normal condo apartments cost like S$900,000 to S$1.5 million. Public housing here costs like $105,000 for a two bedroom apartment to $750,000 for a four bedroom one in a neighbourhood that's close to the City. so the $4.75 million is actually quite pricey.

Name of Development: Tan Chin Tuan Mansion (its really a condo and it look super chic. don't bother about the extremely old school name! hahaha)
map of location! click on it to enlarge! condo be marked with an 'A'!!
From the map, you can see how near it is to Orchard Road. You can literally smell the Pradas and Louis Vuittons from the window! haha!
The pictures, while in development. its already up and running actually. these are old pictures.
I likethe fact that its facade is actually the REAL Tan Chin Tuan Mansion. They preserved it and built the condominium on top of the preserved facade. The lobby's gorgeousness!
This aint our home. its a picture i 'stole' from Knight Frank. The layout of the apartment is exactly as it is. Only the furnitures and fixtures are different.
The uber chic facade up close!
The building from afar! So you can see, the location is quite comendable. the surrounding environment is really nice. very lush and green. the only problem is.... from the picture above, you can make out a road that runs right in front of the condominium. that's an EXPRESSWAY! so the noise is kinda annoying... there's this constant drone of passing cars and sometimes their fumes will get into the apartment.
house warming party? yeaps we're throwing one! but it'll be a very intimate and personal thing. i'm inviting like three close friends and he's inviting 5 buddies . just casual chat with some champagne, hors deourves and maybe some sandwiches! wish you were in singapore! i'd invite you as well, pearl! you seem like a really fun person to hang out with!

anyway, hearts hearts and take care!
Lotsa Love,
Kai + Kenan
its ken here!

we've just finished moving to my new place! its a gorgeous apartment at cairnhill! its a gorgeous location and the surroundings are superb! lush greenery everywhere, quaint cafes downstairs, 5 minutes walk to TOWN*, 15 minutes train ride to the CITY*, and kai's workplace is like a 3 minute walk from my place! like what the hell!! that's so unfair! haha!

* to clarify things up, TOWN is the premier shopping belt of Singapore and comprises of the three train stations, namely Orchard, Somerset and Dhoby Ghaut. Soon, more stations will pop up.
CITY refers to the Central Business District of Singapore and comprises of NAMELY only two train stations, Raffles Place and Tanjong Pagar. Soon, Marina Bay, Downtown and Marina Promenade will join the gang!

back to moi abode! its really quaint and cosy (old and small) it has a kitchenette, a seperate living and dining area, a toilet and a bathroom, a WALK IN CLOSET (totally OMG moment!) and a bedroom. oh just to let you know, we have a gorgeous balcony in the living area! it opens to the lush greenery (and an expressway) below! and at the 15th storey, the air is so much fresher (the haze hits you faster). There's a gym, sauna, 24 hour security (saw the old fart sleeping just now) a lovely pool and a quaint garden (ridiculously small. like only three trees and two benches. that's it.) within the building! all this convenience and gorgeousness for a farking S$4.75 million dollars. HOW RIDICULOUS IS THAT???

property prices in singapore is damn killer! i don't think cancer is the No 1 killer here. Property prices are!

but i'm loving it as of now! okay i gotta go now!

toodles and seeya around!

ooo i'll leave a video by seeya here! hehe! they're a korean group and they're really cute!

blog interviewer just sent a comment on my previous post, saying my blog was great and such. i was afraid it was some virus or scam. i was really sceptical at first! (i mean, there are other better blogs out there than this!) but i just submitted an interview anyway, just for the sake of submitting..

was i duped?

anyone out there encountered a similar request from bloginterviewer.com??

La Recipe for Moi Bread and Butter Pudding!

actually i don't use much measurements because i got it through trial and error. its actually really easy.

What you'll need:
Bread (slightly stale is the best. wholemeal works just fine!)
Butter (lots of it!)

2 eggs
1 pod real vanilla, seeds scrapped out
100 ml cream
400 ml milk
5 tsp castor sugar

a handful of raisins
three peach halves in syrup, diced

method!
cut the bread into triangles and butter both sides. butter the baking dish as well. arrange the slices in the baking dish, along with the raisins and peaches.

in a jug, mix the eggs, vanilla seeds, cream, milk and sugar together. beat till slightly frothy and pour it all over the bread and fruits in the baking dish. allow it to absorb a little (say three minutes?) and randomly put small chunks of butter on the bread and fruit pieces sticking out from the liquid mixture.

Bake in the oven at 240 degrees celsius for 30 minutes or till golden brown and the bread edges look yummily crisp! don worry! the batter will rise dramatically! but it'll sink back to normal level in time.

best served hot with ice cream or vanilla custard sauce!!

Bread and Butter Pudding Party!!

haha its not a party but it actually turned into an impromptu one! hehe. hen baby wanted some more of the bread and butter pudding i made the other day. so i baked one more for him! this time with peach halves and raisins sans the custard vanilla sauce..

some pictures for you to drool on!!

La close up! the bread turned out slightly soggy looking because it was from the fridge. if it were straight out from the oven, the corners sticking out will be uber yum yums! crispy and buttery!! i suggest he reheat it before consumption!

special bonus fruits for my kenny baby!

looks yummy right!! oh goodness i'm already hungry for more pudding already! haha! gonna make another batch on thursday because mommy's friend have been asking for the pudding. and i'll make a batch for nicole too!
haha! yummy yums! hope i didn't spoil your diet plan!!
omg! 13 followers!! thank you for all your love!! hearts to you all!!

anyway we've been rather busy with things, both at work and at home! so can't post much now! hehe sowwiee!!

Saturday, 13 March 2010

we initially planned to go for a picnic at the botanical gardens. but it was not materialised because it started pouring!! hahahaha! talk about bad timing. we assumed it'll be a sunny and clear day because yesterday's forecasters told us so! (DAMN THOSE FORECASTERS!)

anyway, we just spent the evening together, sipping on hot coffee and some yummy dark 88% cocoa chocolates. milk chocolates are soooo passe!

the rain subsided at like 7pm plus. its was a lovely evening though. sitting on the balcony, breezy night, cloudy skies, lovely arms to rest on.

COULDN'T ASK FOR MORE!!

ps. ken smirked when he saw what i typed. haha he's so cutie cute!

Music Bank Updates!!

new song by Kara!! LUPIN! the sets and costumes are gorgeous! love the concept!!

and something sexier, here's T-ARA with I Go Crazy Because of You.. its directly translated, hence the mouthful for a title! its a departure from the chic or cute T-ARA..

cute T-ARA

and lastly, a chic T-ARA. this is actually my favourite song from them. its direct translation means Like The Begining.

Enjoy!! haha this post turns out to have more T-ARA than Kara! hehe sorry its kinda biased!

Yokoso Japan 2010!!

its Yokoso Japan time! Yokoso is japanese slang for Welcome. and since its already march, the cherry blossoms are already blossoming in Okinawa and Kagoshima.

BUT its still not too late if you wanna see them in Kyoto (late March), Tokyo (April) or Hakodatte (June)*. Why the frenzy just too look at the cherry blossoms bloom? well, the views are spectacular and do you know that some companies have parties under them? common citizens celebrate their beauty by having drinks and munchies under them too.
i'll post some yummy pictures later to entice you to go visit Japan this year!!

*p.s. its best to chech the cherry blossom forecast (yes, there is such a thing) for japan before you make your visit there. The months stated are rough gauges and they differ from year to year. also, these blossoms last for only three days max. so don't waste your money going there when they are not blooming!

here's part two of last night's ranting..

i actually bought a really cute Zara blazer. its cut like a blazer but its knitted like a cardigan. so its super cute! hahaha! i cost me like S$129, which is like US$75 just for comparision sake. i think its kinda worth it though, its nice and warm and its really snuggly worth! its not that i need like another warm coat in this hot and humid weather, its just good for the arctic temperatures in the office.

oh we also went for some japanese food at 313. Sean and Tricia had tonkatsu ramen while Pearly and Me had like that raw fish thing with rice. its not sushi. its in a bowl and they place slices of raw fish atop the bowl of rice. it was yummy, but our sashimi rice took like 30 to 45 minutes to come by. AND THE BEST PART IS NO COOKING IS NEEDED FOR OUR DISHES!! their ramen came in like 15 minutes!! we were so raving mad and hungry! so we called the supervisor around and Pearly screwed him up like nobody's business. but she did it really discreetly and she made sure she did not raise her voice too much. we got the service charge waived off but i still gave them a tip. i mean i was from the f&b line too and i know how tough it is to make every guest happy. and its not the service crew's fault either. it's the kitchen's fault.

so yeah! that was it for last evening! a bit of food followed by some shopping! great evening we had!
hey everyone! kai here!

ken baby is already asleep. he looked so tired. poor boy. i should try to get home earlier. wasn't even able to spend some time together today! oh man i feel so guilty...

guess i'll blog about what i did today later on in the evening then..

sigh

i'll give him a nite nite kiss before i do some work..

Tuesday, 9 March 2010

double post today!! the post in black will be mine will the one in green will be ken's okay! happy reading!!

hectic day today!!
i was up by 7.30 am (a first for me!!) because i have to meet a client at like 9am to collect her premiums. so troublesome! i've submitted her direct bank transfer form to Prudential but i dunno what's holding up the transaction. guess its the banking side.. but anyway i have to like write the temporary receipt slip for her and like get the money and verify the amount and all. gosh! and i have a meeting at like 9.30am. but thankfully she was punctual (as always) and i managed to get to the office on time too (not always!) managed to submit in the cash to the cashier first before the meeting started! so thank goodness for that! hahaha!

the meeting (really drabby and dry stuff) ended thankfully at like 11.30am and i have to rush down to Bueno Vista to do prospecting. reached there with Jansen at like 12.20pm by bus (really speedy!) and had lunch there as well.. i had dumpling soup again! the dumplings were uber yummy and really love the soup!nice and light! but Tricia wanted to have lunch too, so we waited for her till like 1.30pm. in between, we smoked like 3 sticks of cigarettes each! haha! damn! i'm like totally on my way to claiming my insurance for cancer or something! hehe! we started the prospecting proper at 2.30pm and it ended at like 4pm. no goos leads for today.. really sad :(

after that was done, i have to rush back to office again for another sickening meeting which starts at like 4pm. so no time for a bite in between. this meeting was like 10 000 times drier than the first! freaking draining! the chair of the meeting keeps repeating the same points over, and over again! i'm like soooo gonna stone her to death one day! like seriously!

once that's done, i did some facebooking and got a call from a dear friend at like 7pm. he was in a spot because he doesn't know how to dress up his model well. gave him a bit of advice and decided to help him with the shopping. her top was a really short dress top made of cotton and looked really cheap. its like a long tank top with splashes of black and purple dye. since the damage was already done, all i can try to do is like salvage the wreck and try to up the street cred a bit. we decided to match that cheap looking dress top with some opaque dark green stockings and a pair of suede purple and gold heels. the heels were gorgeousness! its like purple strappy thingy in front with a gorgeous gold heel. it'll definitely pop out from the plain ensemble.

thinking of how to up the cred further, i suggested we team up a nice cropped jacket with the top. so off to ZARA we went. at first, i suggested a really cute nautical themed blazer with horizontal navy and white stripes on it. but the shoulder pads were not a great selling point. made the model look like a dancer from a Lady Gaga show! haha! they're just too sharp and pointy. so as they were deliberating over my choice, i found a really cute coco chanel-ly blazer that's totally black with gold details and trims, totally chic and totally gorgeousness! but the price was a bit steep for him. it was like going for $129. but it was damn cute! i should ask him for the picture someday and post it here! by then, i had to zip off to another location because i have a movie date with kai xin at 9pm.

but thinking back, i really loved being a personal shoper for them and it was a really fun experience.. unlike women shoppers who tend to browse and deliberate over each article of clothing, i know what i want and i just zoomed in on the articles that match the concept, colour combination and style. imagine this, i was in Pedro looking for a pair of suede heels and found it in 3 minutes flat. the agreed on the style and purchased it thereafter. we were in Charles & Keith looking for a similar styled heel at a lower cost. but just by going around the store once, i know that they do not have what i want. so we exited in like another three minutes. then we went over to Zara to look for the cute compliment. i found the first nautical blazer in 4 minutes. and as they were deliberating over it, i found the coco chane-ly blazer and ran over them saying how cute it looked. we were done at Zara in like ten minutes. how zippy was that!?!? i can sooo be a Personal Shopper! yes ma'am, i can fix you a gorgeous look for any occassion in 30 minutes flat!

that done, i zipped back up to Bishan for the movie date. reached there with like 10 minutes to spare. so i bought the tickets first and we watched it. the movie was Alice in Wonderland and it was superbly done! i just love the cinematography and the lush colours used. really beautiful! it was exactly like watching a fairy tale unfurl before you. really nice! i'm so gonna buy the DVD so that i can treasure it for as long as i live! hahahaha!

the movie ended at like 11pm and guess what?!?! i have to rush over to Ang Mo Kio for an appointment!! i did all my paper work in the bus. i was really like a mad hatter then! gosh! i reached there in 30 minutes and got him to sign on the dotted lines straight away. i refreshed him on hw the plan works and off i went! man! i was totally pooped by then! i hadn't had time for dinner and i can't eat anything by the time i reach home because it was already 12.30am. so i just showered and spent some quality catch up time before i went to log into my email account.

and when i logged into my email account, i saw an email from a friend who needed help with her assignment. so out came my financial calculator and a few pieces of blank paper. it was about estate management and retirement planning. absolutely my forte! but the questions were damn anal! and the case study was a pain in the ass too! this bugger invested all his monies in properties! what a silly thing to do! like seriously! i managed to finish it all by like 2am and started with this blog entry.

okay, ken's gonna entertain you guys now. i'm off to make my darling ken a nice cuppa of hot chocolate! toodles for now!

hey hey people! ken here! how are you? hehe! anyway i had a rather relaxing day at work. so here goes!

i had a meeting in the morning at like 11 and it was really crazy. all about figures and formulas! like what the hell? don't they have like better things to talk about? like the next great singapore sale or something? something more informative and relevant please!??!!?? but thankfully the meeting ended at 12.30 sharp. too bad i can't have lunch with kai though..

i took a really long lunch that ended like at 3pm. and i told my boss that i have some client matters to attend to and its kinda far. so i'd be rather inconvenient for me to come back to the office. haha! he fell into my trap and he said okay! so off i skip to my 'appointment'. and guess where was that?? haha! the YSL boutique at Paragon! my tailor gave me a ring saying my suit was ready for collection and asked if i'd like the suit to be courriered over to my workplace. i said no (obviously) and told him to give me like 30 minutes and i'll be there.

the suit was gorgeous! the tailoring and worksmanship was magnificent and spectacular! really beautiful piece of art! love the material and the sheen it produces! ooo the corporate hyenas at work are so gonna bitch when i wear that to office soon ! hehe! unfrtunately my tweed blazer wasn't ready yet, though and i'll just have to wait probably another week before it comes in. sigh... tweed is such a beautifully destructured look yet it looks so polished it done properly. Madammoiselle Chanel introduced me to tweed and i owe my soul to her. God bless her soul! but its such a pity that you can't wear tweed out in singapore. the 36 degrees celsius will cook you alive i'm sure! hahaha!

i was on my way back home when kai called and said he wont be able to make it for dinner and he has a movie date to go for. so off to kinokuniya for me then! love the kinokuniya at takashimaya! the collection is just so extensive and the cafe was superb! the drinks were kinda blah but ilove the ambience there. its in the bookshop so i can just purchase the magazine that i wanna read and hop over to the cafe for a latte and a pleasant evening out. oh! i bought the latest edition of FINEBOYS by the way. it a japanese fashion magazine for men. but pity i can't read japanese! i just love looking a the pictures and gain some knowledge on mix and match. and i received an sms from kai saying he spotted a lovely coco chanel-lu blazer for the model he was shopping for. haha! since when was he moonlighting as a personal shopper?!?! hehe! i want a personal shopper too!

reached home at like 9pm in the evening and had a really invigorating and warm and extremely long bath. it was de stressing indulgence to the max! (not that i needed any de stressing of sorts! haha not yet! the time is not here yet!) slipped into my bed clothes and was about to lie down on bed with my laptop when my darling doll came home. he looked totally drained so i decided to give him an invigoratingly tight hug. he felt good hugging! haha! and he was really relieved after that. it was like 20 000 tons of bricks got off his back. he skipped merrily to the loo for a shower and lay next to me with his heart. haha! how sappy was that! hehe! he did his blog entry first and went to the kitchen to do some yummy drinks while i complete mine! and speaking of which, he's back!! okay gotta zip guys!

see you guys around soon! at our blog that is! hahaha!

hi people, kenan, or ken for short, here!!

we didn't manage to go for a movie last night. kai finished practice late, like around 11pm plus, and we don't wanna go back too late because we have work the next day, so we just stopped by Thompson Plaza's Starbucks to have a cuppa before we leave.

his conductor is such a slave driver! they started at 7pm and end at 11pm plus? i mean come on dude! get the orchestra to start early and end it early too! people hae their own lives to run ya know! sheesh! totally pissed that we can't watch a movie yesterday. tsk!

a matinee

here i am sitting at home, with my doors and windows flung wide open. iced tea on my right, my lappy on my left. its really bright and sunny outside. and the occassional breeze is soo welcomed here. its so hot and humid. anyway here's my schedule for today!

i have orchestra practice at 7.30pm at Nanyang Girl's Auditorium. today will be my first attempt at playing Mozart's K314 Mvmnt 1 Oboe Solo. Just so you know, i play the flute for the Japanese Association Orchestra and i "part time" for the oboe as well as they do not have a fixed oboist. i'll leave a clip here for you guys to listen to! its really nice and has a really good build up.

if you think this song seemed familiar, it was actually featured in an episode of Nodame Cantabile. its a really nice song. just hope i can last for throughout. its freaking long and really taxing on the lips. i tried palying it once at home and my lips started trembling from the 45th bar onwards.. i had cramps! hahaha!

anyway, that's my suffering for later. we'll probably end like at 10pm plus or 11 ish even. Ken and i are suppossed to go for a movie later. but i dunno if we have enough time for that. maybe we should just stop by a Coffee Bean and have a cuppa instead. we can chat and catch up with the goings on for the past week. that's my Schedule for Today!!

anyway just wanna share something with you guys. yesterday, i was doing prospecting at Bueno Vista and it was already kinda late (6 plus ish in the evening). i approached a lady who appeared to be in her late 40s and ask her to do a short banking survey. she did and was more than happy to share her banking experiences and her saving habits. she was a joy to talk to and she even gave me her address and phone number so that i can follow up with her about the savings plan. she was really open to my suggestions and did not react adversely when i introduced myself as a representative for Prudential^. i'd be a great honour if i could get her to be my client! i just love people like her, who are open to my suggestions and not brush us aside. we have to work hard to get our clients you know!

point^ : most singaporeans' reactions when a financial consultant says he's from an insurance company is, "har? insurance? no need i got enough / not interested! / insurance agents cheated me of my money!" and et cetera. i mean come on people! the people who cheats you off your money are the ones you always go to for your needs. they don't do a good financial analysis for you and you'll always end up buying WHAT YOU WANT, not WHAT YOU NEED.

thinking back, actually what i do is like being a street walker! haha! i stand by the streets, soliciting for business and tempting people to talk to me with my looks / cuteness (i use different tactics for different age groups) hahaha! exactly like being a whore! God! haha!

don't give us financial consultants a hard time okay, we work hard to serve you better!

hi guys! and girls!! haha

kenan here!

somethin really funny happened tonight. haha! i'll tell you more later.

anyway, we reached home at 10 plus and i was too pooped to hae dinner, so i cleaned up and went to lie on the bed. kai was already on my bed surfing the web on his lappy. he and his facebook stuff as normal. as i began to snooze off, kai suddenly woke me up. here's the exact exchange we had just now.

"ken, ken! wake up!" kai said

"what is it?"

"i suddenly have a craving for some dumpling soup!"

"har? in the middle of the night?"

"yeah yeah! wake up and help me cook the soup!"

haha so there i was boiling the soup while kai was making the dumplings. at 1am. at this God Foresaken hour. making dumplig soup. from scratch. hahaha! kai and his wimps! thank goodness i was in charge of the easier and less hassle job. i just have to boil some fish stock, anchovies and some soy beans in a pot and let it simmer for like an eternity. there he sat on the kitchen counter, stuffing dumplings, humming Mozart's K314 while happily crimping them dough.

the supper turned out fabulous and yummy though! so its worth the waking up and cooking! it was uber yummy and we had it with kimchi. snuggling up in bed with a bowl of soup and dumplings, with kimchi between us. isn't life full of surprises! hahaha!

it was a satisfyingly light and delicious supper. and now, i can go back to bed, happy and well fed.

pray kai doesn't have any more late night cravings! hahahahah! so freaking tired. must go to bed now. goodnight everyone and have a great day ahead! TGIF!!!

oh, i must remember to pick up my suit from Prada. its ready! yay! new work clothes!!

yesterday we were chillin at Paragon's Starbucks (uber yucky!) and heard this song. its really beautiful... here are some of the lyrics and try to guess what's the title of the song!

i wanna hold you close under the rain,
i wanna kiss your smile and feel the pain.
i know what's beautiful, looking at you
in a world of lies, you are the truth

and baby everytime you touch me i become a hero
i'll make you safe no matter where you are
and bring you everything you ask for, nothing is above me
shining like a candle in the dark
when you tell me that you love me

i'm sure you've guessed it! its When You Tell Me That You Love Me by the ever great Diana Ross. this is the perfect form of romance i've ever heard off! (and seriously i don't think it exists now in this world!) the romance is just too good to be true! but i'd love mine to be exactly like that! sigh..... anyway here's a clip for you. this is sung by Ross and Westlife (ugh)..

but its quite nice though..

the quality is kinda crappy but that's the only video i could find on youtube.

sigh... anyway i gotta prepare myself for work now... toodles people!

kai here..

just got up from bed and feeling really lazy. don't feel like going to work. but i'll have to submit my clients proposals. guess i'll just come in at 5pm then.

lemme see.. i still have 4 more hours before i need to go to work. what shall i do then?

hrm.... let's prepare a nice dinner for kenan san! yay!

oh and i have been receiving lotsa comments lately. thanks for reading and dropping by. but can you leave the comments in English? i can't read mandarin characters because i'm japanese educated. kenan is japanese but he's from Vancouver, so he's English Educated. a bit of French is okay.

hope you guys don't mind the request and continue enjoying the blog!!
its kenan again!

oooh! kai has already uploaded the park pictures! drats! thought i was quick enough! craps! the picnics are gonna be a mainstay. its such quality time we get to spend! nothing else bothered us (except the heat) and we got each other's attention and love to the brim!

anyway, we met up for lunch just now. he came over to my office at Cecil St and i was shocked to see him there actually. he made time to come down all the way from his office at Newton to Raffles Place to spend one hour with me! how sweet is that?!?!

anyway we had korean food and it was uber yum yums! the greatest kimchi stew i have ever tasted! loved it to bits! but it didnt come close to Kai's home made kimchi stew with HOME MADE KIMCHI. kai's stew had lotsa LOVE in it.

after lunch, we felt like having some alcohol to kill our livers with, so we headed down to a pub just down the street to have a drink. i had beer while he had his gin tonic. he adores that stuff. i guessed he just loved the taste of gin. or that's he just loves old fashioned drinks. Gin Tonic is soooo last century! haha! (sowwwieee!!)

to pay back his kindness to me, i left office early and met him in his office at Newton. i even let myself into his office! he was flabbergasted to see me standing right next to his table! haha! aww! my baby was so hard at work! his smile was so cute when he saw me! felt like i needed to take a picture of it so that i could cherish it forever! but drats! my hands were too slow! he packed his stuff and we made our way to a nice restaurant nearby at the Sheraton Towers Hotel. love the ambience there. the restaurant had full length windows overlooking a lush tropical rainforest with a beautiful cascading waterfall set amongst the foliage. love it love it love it!!

but we couldn't go home together because kai has an appointment with his clients at 9.30pm. so we took the bus together to Bishan and i left him there while i continued my journey to Ang Mo Kio. great way to start the week, don't you think so?

i'll have to stop here. need to go wash my face and go to sleep! another great adventure await me tomorrow morning! goodnight everyone! muacks!

Mt Emily Park

hi hi people!! kai here! just so you know how i look like, i've posted my picture in the profile section. and in case you are still wondering, yes i'm a gay boy in love with the most romantic guy in the world! hahahahahaha! its a Guy X Guy love so don't freak out okay! hehe!

anyway, here are some pictures of Mt Emily Park that i took. I guess they are worth sharing! hahaha!

The view from the park.. its the Central Business District at the background!

This is probably the only playground with SAND... so nostalgic..

A student's hostel located in the park

This sign is really cute!

Along Orchard Road, the part outside Istana, in case you are wondering..

The greenery outside Istana

Pretty park! probably the best park for lovers!

isn't it pretty? especially after the slight drizzle. but after the drizzle, it was freaking humid and hot. romantic novels will describe the weather as a balmy and warm evening. i'd describe it as FARKING HUMID! haha!
