its already december! omg.. time flew by so quickly.. anyway life is good at DBS and its really fun working there. my boss is so lovely! it was my birthday yesterday and she actually went out to get a cake for me.. thank you miss boss!! ahahahahaha! yay.

anyway chirstmas is coming soon! can't wait! oh and the department's christmas get together is coming up soon too its on the 15th this month.. i'm just gonna pig out on the food. not into socialising really..

so far so good at work! just got back from my weekly hunt for cheap books at Thomson Plaza! i'm so happy! got two agatha christie books at half price! yay! got some youghurt as well and now i'm lying on my couch in my lazy shirt and shorts, with the essentials.

yesterday was my third day with DBS.. i've met so many people that i used to meet before and never ever thought i would ever meet them again!

there's Alwyn, the appointment fixer from UOB, then Magdalene, a candidate i interviewed before when i was with Prudential, Johnson, from school and two girls who used to be with UOB but under the General Insurance umbrella.


it's been smooth sailing so far at DBS. the people are friendly and the pantry humongous. but there's a problem with the location itself. the building is located at Expo, which is like a station away from the International Airport BUT thousands of stations away from home, even when home is like in the heart of Singapore.


When i was at Prudential, home was a stroll away. Then it was UOB and home was a train station away from office. Then came DBS...... goom goom goom..... the commute is anal. I live in Newton. So i'll have to take the train up to Bishan and transfer to the Circle Line. after a few stations, i'll have to alight at Paya Lebar station and transfer to the East-West Line to reach Tanah Merah. From Tanah Merah, i'll have to wait a good 15 minutes for the train to arrive and drop off a station later at Expo station along the Changi Extension Line. goodness.

Anyway the bank is kind enough to extend a shuttle bus service that runs from Jurong East station, Toa Payoh station, Tanah Merah Station and City Hall station. but the last bus is just too early for me....

DBS called me up again saying they have another position for me. It was for cards acquisition. what a bummer. didn't i specifically say i do not want a sales related position?! jeez....

DBS screwed my application up. they hired someone else instead of me.. now ill be unemployed indefinitely.. sigh

End Chapter for UOB

Today marked the last day of service for me with United Overseas Bank. its been already a year with that bank and a rather fruitful one. i shall chronicle my life in UOB.

October - I joined UOB as a phone banker for the Credit Insurance department.

November - Passed my probation with the department and received a pay increment from S$1,500 to S$1,800.

December - Due to a lapse in Customer Due Duligence Checks, the department was shut down for an indefinite period of time.

January - We started a new project, Credit Limit Review. 50 applications free to the Bank. whereby the 51st to the 100th application gets you S$3.00 each. The 101st application onwards gets you s$5 each.

February - Salary was increased from S$1,800 to S$2,100

March - Sale of Credit Insurance was given the green light to resume.

October - I decided to not renew my contract with the Bank. And chose to join another local bank instead.

so yeah.. i learnt quite a bit from the bank and how it runs.. and am eternally grateful to my first manager who hired me.

five more days to my last day with UOB! its been a year with the bank and i learnt so much from the kind people there! anyway at work just now i was like totally freaking bored. so i drew some sketches! hope you like them! They're clothes inspired by Nine Muses..

oh p.s. these are exactly the type of models i draw for alll my sketches. extremely skinny, all limbs and huge eyes with lashings of mascara. they do look manga-ish sometimes..

tea @ Berjaya

hello people! i went for afternoon tea with my best afternoon tea kaki yesterday at Berjaya Hotel's Cafe l'espresso. it was sooo good!!

The setting is so Antique Cafe.. There's a sofa lounge are at the other end of the cafe..

i was obligated to be dainty on that day..

the entire tiered tray! this set, including tea of your choice is going for S$52++. its really nice and so worth it! and the setting is so quaint.. the hotel is a row of shophouses all conserved together. the cafe was really quiet and very very suitable for a lazy afternoon or a great office get together.

The sweets tray. This consisted of fruit tarts, the Berjaya cake (so good!!) l'operetta cake, and mini butter cakes.

The savouries. there's smoked salmon with capers, ham and mayo tuna sandwich and foie gras. i didn't take the foie gras. its too cruel for me.

Lastly its the macaron and biscotti tier. i'm not a fan of macarons because its just sugar and shit. but the biscotti was awesome!

all in all it was a really nice place with great food and company. service was exceptional. the waitress was a local lady and she walked through with us the canapes served and how it should be eaten. i'd definitely come here again with my friends. definitely.

omg... i was happily minding my own beeswax when a Toni Braxton song started to play on tv. then this stooooopid brain of mine started to reminisce and dig out old memories i had with this Braxton.

i used to love, and still do, Toni Braxton. i first heard of her in 2003 when i was just 16. She was promoting He Wasn't Man Enough at that time. i loved her immediately for her really deep and luscious voice. If i have to compare her voice with something, it had to be food. Prolly vanilla ice cream made of real premium beans topped with thick oozy warm butterscotch sauce and splashed with a just nice tinge of whiskey for that subtle yet effective kick.

so today, i shall dump my kpop idols for a Braxton tribute! i don have much favourites from her but i'll post whatever i love from her here! so i hope you enjoy!

i finally got a few job offers!! yay!

well the first one was really cool. it was for the National Library. The work hours are either from 10am to 3pm or 3pm to 9pm. Yay i can finally sleep in!! no more smelly 9 to 6 jobs! whee! BUT, it is a temporary contract for only 6 months and the salary is miserable i tell you. its only S$720 monthly. i was like WHAT THE FUCK?! i can't freaking buy anything with S$720 dammit! but i want that job because its something new and i love trying new stuff.

So that Library stint i told the headhunter i will consider, but i'll most prolly will give it a pass BUT if a permanent position in the library were to come by, i'd be very most interested in it.

the second job offer was with the Ministry for Manpower, a government body. I was to be delegated as a Customer Service Officer at the building at Havelock Road. I love that area! its so quiet and nice! BUT this is where all the good stuff ends. work hours are from 8.30am to 6pm. i can't freaking wake up for a job that starts at 9am!! the salary was slightly better though, it was for S$1,390 monthly. That means if you deduct 20% off for the pension scheme thingy, i will be taking home like a measely S$1,ooo-ish monthly.

Such a huge contrast with what i am earning as a phone banker now with UOB. come on Singapore what's with the stagnant salarie!?!?

this is officially the first post for september! hello september goodbye august!

the fasting month is finally over! yay! hip hip hooray! time to gain more unwante weight.

yesterday i was stationed at my maternal gramma's place and OMG! it was like freaking busy! its like serving a Boeing 747! it was so anal, the goodies keep running out, the guests keep coming and i have to serve them drinks. the hot food keeps finishing at astonishing speeds. the kitchen was so hot and greasy and the main guest areas were so crowded and noisy. i can't hear myself at all! goodness me. i sweated like nobody's business yesterday. i felt so hot and smelly and sticky. i was so tempted to take a shower but i can't because i did not bring a achange of underwear and the toilet was like a communal one near the kitchen.

although it was a harrowing experience year on year, it was nice to see long lost relatives like Rayyan and the suches..

i miss those bitches. but i hate the slavery..

oh yeah did i mention i disbursed like close to S$850 in money for those darn kids? i hate to be a working adult.

prior to releasing Figaro, the girls had Ladies. You will immediately notice two stark differences. Firstly, their singing has improved dramatically and there wer, in fact, NINE members! well when they were producing Figaro, two of the members decided to concentrate on their modelling careers.

You gotta give credit to Star Empire for giving the girls a year off to work on their vocals and dancing skills. And blessed that company for they have Seo InYoung and Park Jungah. They were the vocal trainers for Nine Muses.

Lastly, this is their awfully weak and lacklustre debut stage with No Playboy. the song is just too weak for a debut!

Anyway anyway, Nine Muses belong to the Star Empire Family. Other notable Star Empire artists are Jewelry, the longest running girl group in Korea EVER and ZE:A.

Like seriously, Jewelry has been around since 2001. and there's been like four versions of Jewelry so far.. but i still love them! I hope Star Empire go far with their artists and music. Star Empire FIGHTING!!

yeah i'm counting down to Jerard's wedding day! you know why? because weddings are such good excuses to really dress up! hehe.. i just bought a clutch from asos.com and its a gorgeous dark green and its oversized, perfect for the 'manly' me.. hehe don't want the clutch too look too girly, do we? the next thing i need to get are shoes.. my current shoes are too short. their heels add a measly 2.5cm to my already pathetic height. i tried wearing insoles (or man heels) to boost up my height by 6cm. My legs and feet hurt like hell the entire day after. it was like hell i tell you! okay i digressed too much here.. anyway yeah i need to get some shoes.

as for my top, its gonna be a navy long sleeved shirt with black pants and a silk scarf tied around my neck, tucked into the shirt. i'll take some shots on that day itself..

and man i need to lose some weight. my ass is getting too much booty. hate it to the core. makes me look like a porno actor.

Jewish? or Christian? won't they be offended as well? i'll prolly be getting more comments like "oh you're christian... and gay?". i mean come on its not that i love being this way you know.. i freak out whenever i see a vagina, that's all. even worse, am i suppossed to be a freethinker? i mean how sad is the life of a freethinker? you live thinking there is nothing after life, thinking there is some parallel universe somewhere out there, beneath the clear blue sky. having a religion is like having direction in life.

think of it this way, being gay is not only frowned upon religiously, but its frowned upon socially as well. especially from really narrow minded people. "Can gay mens' dicks stand?" "Do they shoot blanks?" "All gay men have HIV"

have life with some salt. if life were to be really all religion and stuff, you wouldn't be able to hang with friends without a chaperone, you won't be able to listen to your favourite songs and even have a hobby. you'll be living a really tough, boring and listless existence.

Monday marked the start of Ramadhan, the fasting month for Muslims. In case you don't know, muslims are to fast during the month of Ramadhan every year, from sunrise to sunset. Fasting means no food or drinks, smoking (thank goodness i kicked that habit months ago!) sexual contact and harsh behaviour / language. This means for a month, muslims have to be a pious and pure lot, reflecting on their wrongdoings, visiting the graves of loved ones and giving to the poor.

you may think say what!? no food for an entire day? i mean yes. an entire day means from 5am till 7.30pm. but from 7.30pm till 5am, we are free to eat and drink. its not that hard. you may think omg i starved the whole day, i'm prolly gonna eat a horse when i break fast later. well no. for me, eating just half a plate of spaghetti is actually very, very filling. most of them tend to eat very little. just take it as a break for your gut!

i have been thinking really hard... should i leave this job and look for greener pastures elsewhere or just stay put here in UOB. its a really ough decision to make cause firstly, the pay here is really good and secondly the work hours are really flexible and the can compromise on alotta things.

on the bad side, its really mundane and dry as we are only allowed to sell just ONE product. its easy to focus and all but after a while it gets really dry and tough. its like eating beef. at first its all moist and oh so yummy and stuff. but by the ninth serving, you'd dream of swimming in a pool of cabbages and corn.

i went for my first interview like a few days back and the interviewer actually exclaimed that my current salary is really, really high for a person working in a call centre. as i know, the second most highest paying bank is Citi and they pay their telephone officers like S$2,000.00 a month. But the work condition at Citi is really bad. as you know, Citi Never Sleeps. So each officer is expected to do the duties of TWO employees.. its really stressful and quite hard on the bankers. i have friends who were in Citi for like a few months only and then they could no longer take it anymore so they leave for greener pastures.

speaking about greener pastures, IS THERE SUCH A THING AS GREENER PASTURES? i mean, its really tough and all now for me in my current job and i will think,"Oh! shift work! i can sleep in late and wake up late when i work in the afternoon shift and i can sleep all day if i work the night shift!" but when i get myself into it i will definitely thing a 9 to 6 job is far more superior..

sigh. me and my fickle mind.

i think i should just hang in here for a while. i could restart studying and maybe complete it even! and also the management's attitudes are kinda improving too.. maybe i'll just give them another chance..

Marmalade Pantry's Club Sandwich.. to die for..

Ham and Cheese Salad from the National Library. Okay this is really funny. i actually wanted a Ham and Cheese Sandwich.. here's the exchange between me an the wait staff.

Me : Hi, I'll have the Ham and Cheese Sandwich please, with some Earl Greay Tea, cold.

Waitress : Okay.

Me : Is the sandwich and open top one?

Waitress : Yes. Do you want the bread toasted?

Me : Yes please. And the menu said it comes with a salad?

Waitress : Yes.

Me : Thank you!

And off the waitress goes. So when the meal arrived i was shock. i thought, okay this is the side salad? its HUMONGOUS! then the bread and butter came. and my friend was like,"AH! i geddit now! you have to assemble the sandwich yourself!" and i was like say what? -_-" hahahaha but the salad was really good and really value for money. the cafe was really quiet too, which i so love!

Home Made Brunch Plate for me and hubby! it consists of toast, masala eggs done MY way, chicken cutlets and an entire can of baked beans sploshed with a generous amount of ketchup. i wanted to serve it with a side of baby spinach greens, but the maid forgot to go get some the day before. oh well, hubby said it was really good too anyway! Hooray for me!! ^^

Chicken Cutlet set from a restaurant.. this was really bang for your buck because for like S$15 you get a soup, a main, a dessert and coffee.

Chocolate Melts from McDonalds'.. its diabetic i tell you. the choco syrup thingy is like soooo sweet eeeeuuurrggghh!!!

Next Station, Novena

ARE YOU EXCITED!?!?! this will be my very first time posting pictures!!!!

omg! i know! its about time right! well, blogger is not really photo uploading friendly and to edit the posts one by one is such a pain in the ass! i've uploaded tonnes of pictures onto Facebook and Instagram but not here.. maybe i'll try to post more pictures kay!

As you know i live in Singapore. its a tiny City/State island with a land area of less that 600 km square. this frigging island has a population of 6.5 million (last counted July 2010) to boot! so you can imagine the land scarcity! that's why almost everyone here lives in apartments! only the rich can afford to buy a home with their own pool and backyard.



This is the view from my apartment in Ang Mo Kio (its a mid class estate). Okay the apartment is actually rather puny. it comes with two bedrooms, a small storage room, a kitchen, a living area and two bathrooms. And a unit like mine will stecha back a good S$400,000.00. That's equavalent to US$330,000.00 or GBP$203,080.00!! and its heavily subsidised government housing too you know!

So imagine, a home with a decent yard and pool, in an upper class estate can actually score a grand S$20,000,000.00. which works out to like US$16,549,400!

You may think, woah! that's a load of cash, but i'm sure Singaporeans earn quite a fair bit then.. well WE DO NOT!

a banker can bring home as low as S$3,000.00 in salary monthly. a lawyer makes around S$8,000.00 monthly. a commercial pilot can sweep S$20,000.00 monthly. an administrator can take back as low as S$ 1,300.00 monthly. its not all rosy!

okay sorry... guess i digressed quite a bit, anyway here's another shot from my kitchen window! you can see the play are below!



The shot below is taken from my office unit in Novena (an upper class estate). the are here is really posh and expensive. quite a share of condominiums here. The buildings you see below are all of private nature. That means they are not public housing.



And this below is a shot of some government housing in an upper middle class estate named Bishan! i like this shot! looks really nice and calm. but i tell you on the day i took the shot it was a hot as hell day!



i like the shot of the park in the foreground. i think it'll be a nice place to live in. its near everything! 10 minutes to town by train, 15 minutes to city by train and schools and amneties nearby everywhere. i really love this area..

well i guess that's it for the basic crash course on the vicinity i hang!

something really serious and funny happened last evening.

as we were walking back from After Dinner drinks at Nektar, kenny banged into a Stop sign pole without noticing. it was very loud and looked really painful. as i bent down to help him up, i noticed blood trickling down his nose. that was it.

"Oh Shit," i thought. I scrutinised his nose carefully. Then i noticed it.

"HOLY SHIT!" his implant moved! i was like so scared shit. i helped him all the way to Mt Elizabeth Hospital, which is a short 10 minute walk away. It was quite a sight. Kenny slouched on my shoulders in a daze, my crying and hobbling along the street, trying to get to the hospital faster. Then some kind soul actually stopped by to ask us if anything is the matter. She saw kenny's bloody nose and went like "CRAPS!" she quickly helped him into the backseat of the car and i shoved him in to make space for me. She asked if she should send us to the nearest government hospital and i was like NO! take us to Mt E please, no government hospitals for us!

Thanks to that kind soul, we managed to get to the hospital in like three minutes and got kenny into the A & E area faster than i could manage. TO THAT KIND SOUL, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR HELPING US THAT NIGHT. DO DROP ME A MESSAGE HERE ON MY BLOG. we'd be delighted to have you and your family to dinner with us! oh and i need to seriously pay you for the cleaning services too!

Lovely Dr Noo is such an angel too. When she learnt from the nurses that kenny got admitted to hospital because of an accident and his implant got shifted out of place, she actually came down from her home in Tanglin to take care of him! We were so blessed that we did all our plastic surgery with Dr Noo.. God bless her soul! ^^

fortunately the surgery went well and ended in like and hour plus. so kenny now got a new nose and a new chin. Dr said don't worry the corrective work is on the house (wee!!) and he will be able to start working within a week's time as these are just corrective and not a full surgery. thank goodness the scars are very minimal and non invasive.

so i hope everything goes well now for my dear hubby and hope he gets to use his new appendages as soon as possible! Love you Hubby!! ^^

A Full Bloom Spring Is Here

i got home today to a surprise! as you know, our 8th Anniversary was on last Friday, we were not able to properly celebrate it as it was a working day and i had an errand to run during lunch hour. So he made it today! it was so nice! so nice i tell you! to all you single people out there, GET A BOYFRIEND! GET A GREAT GUY LIKE MY KENNY!! He made a full course dinner all by himself! i'm so touched! i knew he could cook, but i knew too that he didn't have the time. While i was out all morning and afternoon with my friends, he made me this for dinner!

It was really nice, the entire house was also filled with carnations and roses and lit vanilla candles dot here and there, scenting the entire house. It was a great dinner, enjoyed slowly. at our own leisurely pace, without the rush of other patrons, with great company. after the dinner, we moved out into the open balcony and popped a champagne bottle. "To another 10 years" he said. "Let's retire together" i said. That was like so cute!

We snuggled together on the floor of the balcony and gazed onto the horizon in each other's warmth. He is the only person in my life who accepts me entirely for who i am, without any compromising. He is the only person who knew how to control me, without making me feel interfered. He is the most beautiful balance i can ever have in life. Honestly without him, it won't be a Full Story.

It's been 8 years since we've enjoyed each other's company. Its like I know you inside out, what you know i know and what i know you know too. I still remember how you asked me out and i'm still tickled by how suave you said it. it must be in your genes. being suave. haha!

I'd like to formally apologise for all my wrongdoings for the past 8 years. I'm sorry for always being tardy for all our appointments. I'm sorry for always speaking my mind without thinking of your feelings. I'm sorry for always being fussy and childish. I'm sorry for being so particular in the kitchen and living area. Sometimes when i think back, you'd be much more successfull without me tagging along with you all the time. I know you have all that potential and greatness in you but you can't let it show because of me. I know you would've easily got a position in the Head Bank in JPN or even as the Canadian or American Head. But you did not want to leave me alone here in singapore again. You're still young. You must have been so greedy for that career advancement and the wealth of experience that will bring you.

But you are always so patient to me. Always smiling and happy. You are the strongest pillar i can ever have. When i am troubled and pissed about something, lying next to you while you sleep and listening to your humming heart will make me forget all my worries. You bring me down to Earth when i am aiming too high. You are such a romantic and so accepting of who i am. You are such an adorable guy. and you will always be.

We overcame so many obstacles to getthis far. 8 years. It's nearly a decade. If we can last this long, we can last an eternity together. Irregardless of what other people say about you or us. As long as we are true to each other and give our hearts to each other, whatever other people say is just hindrance that we can live without. friday saw a huge drama in office. they were debating why the current performance for the agents, me especially, is so poor compared to the previous year. a colleague of mine got upset and stormed our of the office. alot of questions were left answered. answers given were super grey, super vague. Nothing is a Yes or No. Suggestions were given but not accepted and some were even casually brushed off.

fast forward to today, the monday after, something funny happened. i was waiting for cheryl at the lift lobby and little miss TM was waiting for mr DTM with me at the lobby. there was such an awkward silence! hahahahahaha! what was that for? i thought you emphasised professionalism? doesn't professionalism mean work=work and off hours=off hours? why after that evening the attitude was like some primary school kid. "you ate my candy, so i'm not gonna be friends with you." i had to initiate the conversation you know! omg! ME! the 23 year old!

hahah anyway, let's see how long this upholds. on the bright side, they're not pushy with the figures. ^^

So, you think the PAP are morons??? Think again.. Please everybody; cool down.. Saw this recent article somewhere: Heard this from a reliable source amongst the highest echelons of the PAP. The PAP was well aware that Aljunied is a risky pr...oposition for them. This was clear even in 2006 and G —-just scraped through.

The PAP also knew that this time LTK is going to contest the Aljunied GRC, especially after the electoral boundaries were redrawn. They had factored that in and they knew that Aljunied is a goner in that case. There was apparently considerable thinking to move G—-to East Coast GRC so that his success is guaranteed. This was mooted by GCT It carried through the day and apparently G—-was also sure that he would be moved to East Coast. Suddenly for no apparent reason, Lim Swee Say was moved to East Coast GRC and G—-was retained at Aljunied. Apparently the decision was taken by LHL, TCH and WKS. No one knows the rationale for that decision.

There are 2 theories going around: One, they didn’t want to sacrifice Lim Swee Say and wanted a safe seat for him. Second, some sections in the PAP believed that G—-was gaining international stature (much more than the PM himself) and wanted to cut down his size. He was also considered to be GCT’s man and LHL wanted him out respectably. One should also note that it is only GCT who is making statements supporting G—-.

LHL is conspicuous by his silence on GCT. LKY’s threat to Aljunied residents (leaving residents confused as per G—-, while causing more Aljunied residents to be frustrated & vote for Workers’ Party) is actually sounding the death knell for G—-(and do S’poreans still think that LKY is old & senile?). So, PAP wants G—-to lose. LTK has questioned the rally attendees that if G—-is so important to the PAP team, why doesn’t G—-be removed from Aljunied GRC.

If this has even some truth to it, one can easily speculate that there’s enough dissent even within PAP ranks and one just has to wait for Mentor Lee to exit for the dissent to come out in the open. They have given up on Aljunied and Hougang. What’s next for G—-? Could he stand for the coming President election? Or hop on in another high profile job in the civil service? You draw your own conclusion.

So, you think the PAP are morons??? Think again..

PAP is using Tin Pei Ling as test-water (as a young candidate). In GE2016, the most exciting moment is the arrival of Li ShengWu (elder son of Lee Hsien Yang), LKY grandson and he should be 28 years old by then to continue the process of dynasty building…

Other possible candidates in 2016:

1. Li HonYi (elder son of LHL/Ho Ching) Li was apparently being groomed for a future leadership role after being awarded a government scholarship to study economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (in 2008). The Singapore military has served as a training ground for political leaders and executives in state companies.

2. Teo Eng Siang (son of Teo Chee Hean) Singapore pays S$280,825 for tuition for Teo’s son –Teo Eng Siang was awarded a Public Service Commission Scholarship in a public ceremony by his own daddy, Singapore Admiral and Minister Teo Chee Hean. Young Teo now(2008) heads for the United States where he will be attending Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. Brown University is a fashionable Ivy Leage school and has a huge annual tuition of US$42,303, or US$169,202 (S$280,825) for the full four years. Don’t you think there are needier students in Singapore?

3.Warren Mah, son of Mah Bow Tan, Singapore’s Minister for National Development, is living in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is on a scholarship to the University of Pennsylvania from the Monetary Authority of Singapore.

This is Politics (Singapore Politics i should think), it’s not as simple as we ordinary folks out there to comprehend precisely. The PAP do have contingency and far-sight plans ahead. .

the Singapore General Elections just past by..

last saturday was polling day for all singaporeans. i was especially excited this year because firstly, i got to vote! and secondly, the hype was really great! it was like damn hardcore! of the 87 seats in parliament, 82 are being contested! that's like a first for singapore!

basically in the singapore political arena, there is one domineering party, the People's Action Party, and a few other oppositions. The popular ones this year were the Worker's Party, the National Solidarity Party and the SPP, i dunno what that means though but it has Mr Chiam See Tong as the Chairman. He's really popular!

so anyway, for you people out there, i'll list the results out below.

Mountbatten went to the PAP

Bukit Panjang went to the PAP

Radin Mas went to the PAP

Whampoa went to the PAP

Moulmein - Kallang went to the PAP. This was a really close fight.

Joo Chiat went to the PAP

Hong Kah North went to the PAP

Marine Parade went to the PAP. This was one of the areas under the brightest spotlights ever because NSP's Nicole Seah was contesting in this area against PAP's Goh Chok Tong.

Hougang went to the WP. i.e. Hougang remained status quo.

Pasir Ris - Punggol went to the PAP. Sigh....

Tampines went to the PAP. This was a really close fight too.

West Coast went to PAP

Yuhua went to PAP

Sengkang West went to PAP. Sengkang West was under Ang Mo Kio 5 years ago.

Ang Mo Kio went to PAP with the highest votes of 69%.

Punggol East went to PAP

Bishan - Toa Payoh went to PAP. This was a really tight battle and a sad one too. the SPP's Mr Chiam contested in this precint but lost. So he will be retiring after this.

East Coast went to PAP

Pioneer went to PAP

Sembawang went to PAP

Nee Soon went to PAP

Holland - Bukit Timah went to PAP. this was so screwed up.

Choa Chu Kang went to PAP

Aljunied went to WP. For the first time ever, an opposition party won big. This was the star battle. This also saw the oust of a few key ministers, namely the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Second Minister for Transport and Finance from the incumbent party. Their replacements have yet to be announced.

Jurong went to PAP

Potong Pasir went to PAP. Sadly, the incumbent SPP's Lina Chiam, wife of Mr Chiam, lost this precint. But this was a humongously tight battle. the difference from the winning to the losing party was like 0.2% only!

Tanjong Pagar was a walkover as no one wanted to contest the incumbent PAP.

So GE 2011 saw 82 seats being occupied by the PAP and a whopping 6 seats being occupied by the Opposition, Worker's Party. Usually it was like 86 seats PAP and 2 seats Opposition. So this year's number is kinda substantial!

Anyway Singapore, let's aim for 40 seats PAP and 48 seats Opposition in GE 2016!

being brought up in Singapore, i, unfortunately, had not tasted country living. I've always been in a high rise building, schooled in a concrete labyrinth and worked in a high rise tower as well.. never in my life have i seen a real farm, a paddy field or even an open green vestige. that's the pity with Singapore. the island is like sooooo tiny and land is like totally scarce. Every bit of nature and rural area was snatched away to make way for development. it's really sad.

all i want is to sit on the grass, feel the wind on my face, smell the scent of freshly dug soil and watch the plants sway with the wind. how i long for that calmness.

hopefully the government finishes the Kallang River revival project soon. pray that will give me the desired effect!

Drop Scones

Dead easy recipe for Drop Scones...

This recipe is from Rachel Allen.

Whisk 170g of self raising flour, a pinch of salt, 50g of sugar and 2 eggs together. Add milk little by little until the batter attained a thick dropping consistency. Drop 3 tablespoons of it at a time onto a greased warm pan. Cook one side until bubbles form at the sides and flip over. Wait and cook till the centre feels springy to touch.

i thought the day would never come. but its really here. it's leonard's last day today. he tendered his resignation and he is moving on from UOB. i should be happy for him but there's still this bitterness in my heart. i doubt leonard wanted to leave at his own accord. he left because he was forced to. because of the way the management was treating him and all that ruckus stirred up because of the fraud case. leonard does not deserve to leave. he was the one who interviewed me and guided me through all the though weeks and cheered us up when our morale was like below zero. now he has to leave because someone just does not like the way he runs things.

i still remembered my interview day. it was a friday and he was dressed really sloppy! hahaha and only later did i realise that fridays are dress down fridays. he's really tall, dark and not so handsome. but he has a really sexy drawl that was so attractive! hahaha! but i found him to be such a great guy from the start. when i asked him why he chose me to join the team, his reply was.. "you can sell, i can see the potential in you. that's why i selected you." after hearing that from him, i was so happy and pledged to myself to never ever dissappoint him and to be in this bank for at least two years with him.

and now this.

Miss Plastic pushes him to a corner and forces him to do something that is an insult to his qualifications. leonard finally relented and gave in to Miss Plastic by tendering. all i can say now is the past has passed and we can only look ahead.

i wish Leonard, the bestest boss in the world, all the best in his future endeavours and may him find pastures way greener than here.

today's such a drabby day.. only three agents on "live" today. seriously don't feel like working because most of my colleagues were not in today. saw Leonard again after a hiatus of like 14 days. will miss my favourite boss so much. ><

Anyway, anyway, i found my new favourite drink! its barley water with silky tofu skin! its so yummy and apparently its good for the complexion as well!! i tried making a batch last night and while boiling the barley grains i used the steam rising from the pot to steam my face! i think i know why the drink is great for your skin! hehe..
