well, well, well.... sunday's the big day... its the army half marathon! there's the 6 km runners and the 21km runners... chua, chia and shaun are selected ( god knows why ) to represent our unit in the 21 clique run. while pretty moi am in charge of the water point and the banana counter... i think its the end of the line... yeah i think so... well... lets face it i won'y go hungry, what with ALL that bananas! ( fruit, i mean )
and get the scoop... the run is on SUNDAY. 21 clique runners are to be assembled at the Padang ( in front of City Hall, the building, not the MRT station ) at if i am not mistaken, at 5.30am. they will start running at 6.30 am. whereas the 6 clique runners are to assemble at the Padang at 7.45am, the estimated time for these brats to finish their run, all 21 kilometres, is 5pm in the freaking afternoon. when am I suppossed to report for my water point duty? TOMORROW lah sundal! TOMORROW morning at 10AM.
THIS IS THE START OF AN ALL NEW GAMESHOW, "WHO'S NOT USING HIS BRAIN!!!"
QUESTION 1!!!
the run starts earliest at 6am. why the freaking hell do we need to report for duty at 10am THE DAY BEFORE??? what the fuck? i just don't get it lor!
anyway, i am there with suhaimi (mimi stroberry ), sharil ( shareel baboo ) and ellis, from S1. so we reach at camp by 10am, go to East Cost Park to set up our stall at, say, 12pm ( sweltering, melting heat ) and finish everything by like 3pm? somewhere around there lah... ok so our turn to do sentry duty for the water point is from 6pm till 7pm ONLY. and we have to report back to the water point by 3 freaking am!!!
AND HERE'S QUESTION 2!!!
from the time that we've finished setting up the water point, 3pm till 6pm and from 7pm till 3am, what in this world are we suppossed to do??? go home? who's gonna pay for my taxi trip back to the point at 3am? well not the Singapore Armed Forces!
WAIT! THERE'S QUESTION 3!!!
MSG Sunnei wants to squeeze in 36 men in a 5 tonner. HOW THE HELL DOES HE DO THAT??? this is no Harry Potter show no! just how big is a 5 tonner? its as big as a 'move house' lorry. even that lorry has like the maximum capacity for passengers!
let's just say that the SAF is just a sheer waste of my time and all this sai kang is making me sick and tired of army life. as what SGT Paul says, "Plan to fail..." i think that phrase captures the Rennaissance stillness and awe of the Singapore Army just perfectly...
