a matinee

here i am sitting at home, with my doors and windows flung wide open. iced tea on my right, my lappy on my left. its really bright and sunny outside. and the occassional breeze is soo welcomed here. its so hot and humid. anyway here's my schedule for today!

i have orchestra practice at 7.30pm at Nanyang Girl's Auditorium. today will be my first attempt at playing Mozart's K314 Mvmnt 1 Oboe Solo. Just so you know, i play the flute for the Japanese Association Orchestra and i "part time" for the oboe as well as they do not have a fixed oboist. i'll leave a clip here for you guys to listen to! its really nice and has a really good build up.

if you think this song seemed familiar, it was actually featured in an episode of Nodame Cantabile. its a really nice song. just hope i can last for throughout. its freaking long and really taxing on the lips. i tried palying it once at home and my lips started trembling from the 45th bar onwards.. i had cramps! hahaha!

anyway, that's my suffering for later. we'll probably end like at 10pm plus or 11 ish even. Ken and i are suppossed to go for a movie later. but i dunno if we have enough time for that. maybe we should just stop by a Coffee Bean and have a cuppa instead. we can chat and catch up with the goings on for the past week. that's my Schedule for Today!!

anyway just wanna share something with you guys. yesterday, i was doing prospecting at Bueno Vista and it was already kinda late (6 plus ish in the evening). i approached a lady who appeared to be in her late 40s and ask her to do a short banking survey. she did and was more than happy to share her banking experiences and her saving habits. she was a joy to talk to and she even gave me her address and phone number so that i can follow up with her about the savings plan. she was really open to my suggestions and did not react adversely when i introduced myself as a representative for Prudential^. i'd be a great honour if i could get her to be my client! i just love people like her, who are open to my suggestions and not brush us aside. we have to work hard to get our clients you know!

point^ : most singaporeans' reactions when a financial consultant says he's from an insurance company is, "har? insurance? no need i got enough / not interested! / insurance agents cheated me of my money!" and et cetera. i mean come on people! the people who cheats you off your money are the ones you always go to for your needs. they don't do a good financial analysis for you and you'll always end up buying WHAT YOU WANT, not WHAT YOU NEED.

thinking back, actually what i do is like being a street walker! haha! i stand by the streets, soliciting for business and tempting people to talk to me with my looks / cuteness (i use different tactics for different age groups) hahaha! exactly like being a whore! God! haha!

don't give us financial consultants a hard time okay, we work hard to serve you better!
